Chantel Bekoe is a blogger, dog breeder, and a part-time event coordinator. She is a graduate of Ashesi University College where she studied BSc. Business Administration. In Ashesi University College, Chantel Bekoe contributed immensely in the Entertainment Committee, Red Army Football Club, iSA Club, and the Peer Educators Club. She won a presidential award for her outstanding service in the Entertainment Committee in 2016. She was also part of a team that represented Ashesi University College in the

1) What are your Aspirations?

Chantel aspires to be an influential entrepreneur who aims to positively impact the lives of women and girls in Ghana and Africa and one day own an all-female airline.

2) What are your thoughts on financial independence as a young African woman?

I think as much as young African women try to attain financial independence, there are so many obstacles they face due to their gender. However, as a young African woman, I believe financial independence allows young women to pursue their dreams as they do not have to rely on anyone. Financial independence is a stepping stone to greater heights in Africa.

3) What are your thoughts on the saving and investment culture among young African women?

Despite the availability of various financial institutions and avenues for investment, many

African women are not able to save. This is because we tend to focus too much on trivial short-term needs. We should rather save and invest a larger portion of our available funds as this will guarantee a more independent life.

4) What would you say are the secrets to success for an African millennial?

Education is one of the secrets to success but as an African Millennial, you should combine skills learnt from education and ‘street smartness’ in providing solutions.
