2. What was the moment that inspired the birth if She Entrepreneur?

She Entrepreneur originally started out as a committee under University of Zambia Student Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Association called the Women’s league. My partner (Inota Cheta and I) took an active role in ensuring the committee was a successful, we realised most ladies didn’t actively participate because of the male dominance in the association and a lack of focus on the needs of women owned enterprises. We established an all-women’s entrepreneurship association called She Entrepreneur, as a response to the needs of female entrepreneurs. The concept behind She Entrepreneur was to mentor female students to grow and build sustainable business that would live beyond their university days. With our team we created a bespoke program called Enkindle which focuses on Personal finance training, business and skills development.

3. What inspire you?

What inspires me is the desire to see a society where women owned enterprises contribute significantly to economic growth and create jobs. Having to work with an enthusiastic team has continuously encouraged me to do better and work hard to achieve this dream.

4. If anything, what do you wish you could have done differently?

Everything has been a learning experience and to be honest I don’t think I would have done anything any different because whatever has been done has lead us to this point. And I can confidently say we are on the right track.

5. What advice do you have for the ladies reading this?

Your ideas can never be too small or big to start, every successful entrepreneur started from somewhere and that required them to believe in their ideas and confidently approach success. You are not any different!
